CCCME Vice President Liu Chun Invited to Embassy of Sri Lanka

On September 14, 2017, Vice President Liu Chun was invited to Embassy of Sri Lanka and held talks with the Commercial Counsellor Ruwanthi Ariyaratne.
Vice President Liu thanked Ruwanthi Ariyaratne for her warm invitation and pointed out that Sri Lanka occupies an important geographical position on the Maritime Silk Road. In recent years, more and more Chinese enterprises go to Sri Lanka, and are keenly interested in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure facilities and other areas of cooperation.
Ruwanthi Ariyaratne responded that Sri Lanka is to promote economic structural reform with reliance on regional advantages, construct the port-based Industrial Park, and accelerate the process of industrialization. Sri Lankan government will continue to provide a level playing field for foreign investors. She stated that China - Sri Lanka FTA negotiation has made positive progress, indicating good momentum of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Ruwanthi Ariyaratne agreed with Vice President Liu on strengthening regular communication. She said the embassy will provide domestic project information, purchase demand information on a regular basis, which can be spread among member enterprises by CCCME. Ruwanthi Ariyaratne also expressed the hope to jointly hold the bilateral trade and investment promotion events.
