On September 21, 2018, CCCME Vice President Liu Chun paid a visit to Minister Counselor of Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing Negus Kebede Kassaw. The two sides exchanged views on the implementation of the "Eight Major Actions" with regard to China-Africa cooperation.

VP Liu pointed out that at the just-concluded 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the "Eight Major Actions" announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping drew a blueprint for the development of China-Africa relations in the new era. As the largest trade organization in the field of machinery and electronic trade in China, CCCME is willing to carry out regular cooperation with the Embassy of Ethiopia as an effective channel for implementing the action of "industrial promotion" and "facility connectivity" so as to bring the results of cooperation projects to the two peoples at an early date.

MC Negus said Ethiopia is willing to give full play to its unique political status in Africa and become an important fulcrum for Chinese enterprises to explore the African market with 1.3 billion people. The Ethiopian Embassy would to work closely with CCCME by introducing counterpart chamber of commerce of Ethiopia to CCCME and to jointly build a platform for the enterprises of both countries to achieve common prosperity and development.
