Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (BSIET) was reorganized from Beijing Shougang Design Institute (BSDI) which was founded in 1973. Now as an international engineering company relatively held by Shougang Group, it boasts of registered capital of RMB150 million and more than 1200 employees. BSIET provides technical services ranging from planning consultation, engineering design, equipment integration, project managing, EPC etc. for metallurgical, municipal, architectural, energy saving and environmental industries and so on.

BSIET invested 9 companies as Shanxi Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Mesta Engineeing Co.,Ltd., Beijing Shoushe Metallurgical Science and Technology Co., Ltd. etc.. It has also established the joint ventures of Beijing JC Energy & Environment Engineering Co., Ltd. with Nippon Steel Company and Beijing Cockerill Metallurgy Engineering Co. Ltd. with CMI company of Belgium.
 

BSIET has attained the Compound Grade A Qualification for Engineering Design issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the approval of High-tech Enterprise by Ministry of National Science and Technology, and certifications of ISO9001 Quality System, GB/T 24001-2004 Environmental Management System, and GB/T 28001-2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
 

BSIET, as a national renowned engineering technology provider of omni-process of iron and steel making, is capable of providing engineering technology service for million ton scale to ten-million ton scale integrated iron and steel enterprises as well as their matching projects. BSIET's unique technology advantages and rich practical experience lie especially in overall design of iron and steel plants, individual design for stock yard, coking, sintering, pelletizing, iron making, steel making, reheating furnace, energy saving, environment protection and integration of metallurgical equipment. BSIET attaches great importance to technology research and self-innovation, and boasts of 300-odd patents and large batches of competitive proprietary technologies. BSIET undertook the national project of "11th five year" science and technology supporting plan--"new generation recyclable iron and steel making flow", compiled in chief or in participation various national or industrial standards as "Code for Design of BFG Dry Bag Filter", "Design code for BF iron making process", "Design code for BF injection of pulverized coal", "Technical Specification for Low Temperature Multiple-effect Distillation Technology of Sea Water Desalinization in Iron and Steel Industry". By adoption of the professional labs of BF top, blast stove, pelletizing, automation etc., BISET promotes the research and application of new metallurgical process, technology, equipment, and also various advanced means of analogue simulation, finite element technology, 3-D design to successively improve the design quality and efficiency.
 

BSIET accomplished 6500-odd projects, among which are 100-odd large EPC projects, and led the rank in enterprise turnover of national reconnaissance and design enterprises. Its projects cover more than 60 iron and steel enterprises of WISCO, TISCO, Baogang, Jigang, Tanggang, Chonggang, Xingang, Xuangang, Chenggang, Xianggang, and more than 20 nations as Brazil, Peru, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, the Philippines, South Korea, Saudi Arab, Oman, Zimbabwe, Angola etc. The Shougang Jingtang Iron and Steel Complex of the key project of National "11th five year plan", representing the 21 century level of China iron and steel industry, was also overall designed by BSIET.
 

In recent years, BSIET has been awarded with 50-odd national science & technology prizes and national excellent design prizes, more than 300 metallurgical industry and Beijing city excellent design and science and technology progress prizes. A variety of projects created new records of Chinese companies. BSIET was awarded in consecutive years the title of "Promise-keeping Enterprise" of Beijing City, and also successive honours of Pioneer Unit of Project General Contract among national construction enterprise, National Excellent Metallurgical Construction Enterprise, National Excellent Reconnaissance and Design Institute, Excellent Unit of Creating New Record of Chinese Enterprises, National Excellent Unit of Enterprise Culture, Demonstration Unit for Informatization Application in National Construction Industry.
