As one of China’s major exporters of railway transportation products, CMC has accumulatively exported nearly 1,000 rail transit vehicles for more than 20 years. In 2009, CMC exported 30 urban-rail Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) to Brazil, which marked the first time that large railway transportation equipment with Chinese independent R & D entered the high-end market in South America. It was also a model of China’s high-tech electromechanical products with independent intellectual property rights successfully marching on the world stage. In 2012, CMC won the bid of exporting 60 EMUs to Brazil, laying a solid foundation for the further development of the South American market.
