Electricity consumption rises 8.5% in Nov.
China's electricity consumption, an indicator of economic activity, rose 8.5 percent year-on-year to 448.5 billion kilowatt-hours in November.
According to data from the National Energy Administration on Saturday, China's total power consumption by the end of November increased by 7.5 percent year-on-year to 4.83 trillion kilowatt-hours.
Noticeably, in November, tertiary industries continued double-digit growth of 10.8 percent year-on-year.
"The faster power consumption increase of the tertiary industries compared with the primary and second industry means that China's power consumption structure is further improving as the government makes efforts on industrial structure upgrading and adjustment," said Lin Boqiang, director of China Center for Energy Economics Research with Xiamen University.
