As a deep-water offshore equipment designer and builder, Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (hereinafter referred to as ¡°CIMC Raffles¡±) owns CIMC Offshore Engineering Institute and three offshore construction yards separately located in Yantai, Haiyang and Longkou, with totally 13,000 employers. Hitherto CIMC Raffles has delivered 7 deep-water semisubmersible drilling digs. Meanwhile, its amount of deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs being under construction covers 21% of the global market share. In September 2014, CIMC Raffles was honorably listed on the original ship builder whitelist published by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People¡¯s Republic of China.
Regarded as the national offshore oil energy drilling rig research center, CIMC Offshore Engineering Institute (hereinafter referred to as ¡°CIMC OEI¡±) has 800 engineers. Being Ph.D practice base of Harbin Institute of Technology and Ocean University of China, CIMC Raffles OEI attracts ABS, DNV GL and CCS setting their researching agencies. The year of 2013 saw CIMC Group taking over Bassoe Technology (hereinafter referred to as ¡°BT¡±), a Swedish well-known design company. Abundant projects experience of CIMC OEI, combined with comprehensive concept and basic design capabilities of BT, has strengthened mutual complement and inaugurated Asian-European researching methodology.
Several high-end deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs are constructed in CIMC Raffles. The GM4-D semisubmersible drilling rig can operate in the Arctic. While, two D90, the 7th generation ultra-deep-water semisubmersible drilling rigs, own the deepest records in operation and drilling. Concurrently, bulk-delivered jackups and production platforms will be operated in Mexico and South East Asia areas.
CIMC Raffles makes tremendous achievement in Norwegian North Sea deep-water rigs. As of now, CIMC Raffles gets a total of six ¡°Rig of the Month¡± titles awarded by Norwegian National Oil Company (Statoil).
