China Light Industry International Engineering Co., Ltd. (CLIEC), i.e. the former "China National Beijing Contracting & Engineering Institute for Light Industry" was founded in January 1953. In October 2000, it became a large science and technology-based design enterprise managed by the central government, and in April 2004, it changed its name toChina Light Industry International Engineering Co., Ltd. It is now a subsidiary of China Poly Group Limited, a central enterprise supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.                                              

China Light Industry International Engineering Co., Ltd. is a large engineering company with consulting, design, supervision, project management, and general engineering contracting as its main business. CLIEC has the qualification certificate of import and export enterprise; A-level qualification of design for the whole light and textile industry, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry (chemical engineering), municipal industry (drainage engineering, environmental sanitation engineering), agriculture and forestry industry (forestry chemical engineering), construction industry (construction engineering) and special environmental engineering (water pollution prevention and control engineering, air pollution prevention and control engineering). CLIEC has B-level qualification in urban and rural planning, commercial and food industry, chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industry (biochemical, biological drugs, chemical raw materials), electric power industry (thermal power generation), building materials industry (new building materials engineering), municipal industry (water supply engineering, town gas engineering, thermal engineering) and special environmental engineering (solid waste treatment and disposal engineering) design. CLIEC has the second-grade qualification of general contracting of electromechanical engineering and professional contracting of building decoration engineering; the third-grade qualification of general contracting of construction engineering, general contracting of metallurgical engineering, general contracting of petrochemical engineering and professional contracting of environmental protection engineering; the first-grade qualification of engineering supervision and engineering cost; the design license of pressure vessel and pressure pipeline and the first-grade certificate of engineering consulting credit.

CLIEC is currently staffed with more than 700 employees, including 2 national design masters, 3 experts enjoying special government allowances, and 6 design masters in the light industry; 58 professor-level senior engineers, 156 senior titles, 231 national registered engineers of various types, and 47 general contracting project managers.

CLIEC has provided consulting, engineering design, project management, and general contracting services for more than 5,000 large and medium-sized enterprises in China and more than 60 large and medium-sized projects in more than 20 countries abroad, and has established substantial cooperation and business relations with more than 300 famous large companies at home and abroad.

CLIEC attaches great importance to the creation of engineering design results and the selection of excellent results. Since 1980, CLIEC has won more than 410 awards at the ministry (committee) level or above, including more than 50 national awards for excellent design, consulting, and scientific and technological progress, and has a total of 127 patents, including 34 invention patents.
