Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge construction

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the world's longest cross-sea bridge connecting Lantau Island of Hongkong, Macao Peninsula and Zhuhai of Guangdong Province, with the total length of 49.968 kilometers. The main part of the project "sea bridge and tunnel" is 35.578 kilometers, with the tunnel length of 6.75 km, and 29 km of bridge. The contractor, led by China Communications construction Company Ltd. (CCCC) has undertaken the design and construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
On December 15, 2009, the Bridge officially started construction, and on June 29, 2016, the main bridge was successfully closed. On September 27th, the main bridge was formally completed. On December 28th, the Gongbei Tunnel of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was connected. It is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of 2017.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge connects the world's most dynamic economic regions, and has the important strategic significance to promote the further development of Hongkong, Macao and the west bank of Pearl River Delta economic region. And the Bridge is the milepost for Chinese bridge building from strong to powerful.
